Mission Statement

Our mission statement formulates guidelines for professional ethics in everyday life. In addition to the mission («what is our task?»), this also answers questions on the «how» of fulfilling the mission.

The mission statement represents a commitment on the part of all counselling centre staff. We periodically review its practical relevance. The mission statement also creates transparency towards the outside world and can also serve as a stimulus for clients and other interested parties to give us feedback.

We offer a wide range of services and use a variety of methods.
We address current issues, look ahead, and respond quickly to changes and new demands.
We take responsibility for the fulfilment of our mission.
We work independently within our own area of responsibility.
We make use of the possibilities of participative leadership and actively exercise co-determination and co-responsibility.

We draw on our diverse skills and experience for constructive professional cooperation.
We communicate openly and directly with each other and strive for tolerance and mutual respect.
We address disagreements, give each other feedback, and resolve conflicts.
We network our work with educational institutions in the higher education sector and other counselling services.
We value an active feedback culture with the Universities of Bern.
We have a clear profile and attach importance to transparency.
