Counselling on career and professional path

How can you develop your career? We are happy to advise and support students and employees of the University of Bern, the Bern University of Applied Sciences and the Bern University of Teacher Education in planning and concretely preparing the next steps in their careers – confidentially and free of charge.

Our counselling team consists of psychologists from various disciplines – including vocational, academic and career counselling. We provide support in the following areas of your career and professional path, among others:

• Development of your career goals
• Clarification of your personal requirements, interests and competences
• Defining personal development goals
• Planning your entry into working life – within and outside of higher education institutions
• Exploring and choosing suitable further education

The University of Bern offers various programmes for the promotion of young academics, which support academics in planning and consistently pursuing their academic careers:

The Coordination Office for the Promotion of Young Academics in the Vice-Rectorate Research at the University of Bern launches and coordinates inter-faculty initiatives and projects for the promotion of young academics. It is aimed at doctoral and post-doctoral students from all faculties and also offers counselling:
